Lachine Rapids are series of rapids on the St. Laurence River between the Island of Montreal and the South Shore. They are located near the former city of Lachine. The Lachine rapids contain the largest standing waves. Even the seasonal variation in the water flow does not change the situation of the waves.
White water rafting and jet board expeditions are possible on the rapids. Other popular sports are white water kayaking along with river surfing.
